Watch service inquiries by email aftersales@lindroos.fi
Lindroos is Finland’s largest private owned after sales service and its an officially certified service center for more than ten different Swiss brands. These include Rolex, Breitling, Cartier, Panerai, IWC, Omega, Tudor, TAG Heuer, Zenith etc. As for being a certified service center, we are able to order the watch parts straight from the factory and we do not use any generic parts. This is how we ensure that the quality of your watch remains at the level it is supposed to be at. Certified service has also an international warranty and within the warranty, you can take your watch to be checked at any official service center in the world. The service interval for mechanical watches is around four to seven years. This is the point in where the oils in the movement start to dry out. No matter if your watch is mechanical or quartz, old or new, it pays to have it serviced regularly. This way the watches operational reliability is guaranteed year in year out.
The service interval for mechanical watches varies by brand, typically ranging from 3 to 8 years, as the oils inside begin to deteriorate over time. Whether you have a new or vintage mechanical wristwatch or a battery-powered quartz watch, regular maintenance is highly recommended. This ensures the watch’s reliability and helps preserve its value for years to come.
Evaluating the need for service
For making the estimate, it always starts with the evaluation of the need for service. The noticeable marks on the case, bracelet and glass are documented as well as the condition and oils of the movement are checked. The estimate includes the price for operations as well as spare parts if needed, to ensure that the watch functions as it is supposed to. The service starts only after the estimate is approved. If a situation arises that an accident has happened to the watch, we can provide you with a statement for your insurance company.
What is included in the service?
The movement is dissembled and all the parts are washed. If there are any worn parts, they will be replaced. If there are some bigger parts that affect the cost of the service, they will already be with the estimate. The watch is assembled and oiled, and the dial and hands are put back on. The case is refurbished and the gaskets replaced. A pressure test is done to the case, without the movement, of 5 to 10 bars. The watch is then placed on a winder for a few days for testing. Finally, the power reserve is checked, to see how long the watch will run after being fully wound. When everything is completed, the watch will be ready to be picked up.
Bezel refurbishment
In the picture, there is an Explorer II bezel (16570).
The images on the left show the bezel before restoration, and the images on the right show it after.
The bezel’s chamfers have been polished, and the brushed finish has been reapplied.
The restoration is always carried out as close to the original condition as possible, without altering the profile or removing excessive material.

FAQ
Can I use my watch in sauna?
Not recommended. The rapid temperature fluctuations may damage the seals and the movement oils.
There is black substance coming of my watch? Why?
The substance is dirt that has gathered up in the small spaces on the bracelet, clasp or case. This can be cleaned by washing if the watch is water resistant or the watch can be brought to our store to have it cleaned.
Why is my automatic watch not working correctly even though I shook it before use?
The automatic movement needs to be wound before use. The watch should be wound from the crown at least 30 rounds before taking it in use. Shaking the watch is not a very effective way to wind a watch without any power reserve.
When do I need to bring my watch in for a service?
A mechanical watch is usually brought in for a complete service every 3 to 6 years. Though, this can vary depending on how fast the movement wears or the oils dry.
When should I bring my watch in for checking?
The watch should be brought in for checking if it is acting unusually, e.g. losing or gaining time, stoppage or making funny noises.
What is the delivery time for a service?
The delivery time varies depending on the brand and amount of work. Please be in contact for more accurate information.
Partial repairs are usually done within 1-3 weeks, as long as the necessary spare parts are in stock.
When do I pay the service?
The repair can be paid when the watch is picked up at our store.
If the watch is sent to you, the payment has to be done according to the instructions we will provide you with, before the shipping.
Will there be any warranty for the work that is done?
The warranty for a complete service is 24 months depending on how the watch has been treated. If the watch is sent to the manufacturers service center, the warranty period varies between 12 and 24 months depending on the brand.
For a periodical service we will warranty the waterproofness for 12 months.
For work done on Omega and other Swatch Group watches there is a warranty period of 24 months.
Can I send my watch to service?
Yes. Please contact us first by email at aftersales@lindroos.fi
