At the Watches & Wonders Geneva fair, TAG Heuer presented numerous novelties for the Carrera series, including the Chronograph ”Glassbox”

Carrera is celebrating its 60th anniversary, in honor of which TAG Heuer introduced a large number of new models to the Carrera series. One of the most talked about is the vintage-inspired Glassbox chronograph, which brings the 39-millimeter size class that previously appeared in limited edition collections to part of the ongoing collection. Glassbox, which has easy-to-read dial and even feels little bit petite, has been influenced by the strongly domed glass of the original Carrera. This curved structure, suitable for the motorsport theme, is repeated in different elements of the watch, such as the bezel behind the sapphire crystal and the small dials.

The Glassbox presented in two different colors is also insightful, because there is something different about their style. While the black dial model oozes strict sportiness down to the perforated leather strap, the blue dial model is a couple of notches more elegant with a smoother leather strap. There are also differences in the dial, because in the blue model the small seconds dial at six o’clock is on the surface of the dial, while in the black dial model it is embedded like other small dials. Another subtle difference is in the placement of the dial, as in the black dial model it is located at 12 o’clock and in the blue one at 6 o’clock.The Carrera Glassbox chronographs have a TH20-00 automatic movement further developed from TAG Heuer’s oven-fresh Heuer 02 movement, which pulsates at a frequency of 4 Hz and provides the watch with a power reserve of 80 hours. When this is combined with 100 meter water resistance and the already mentioned excellent 39 millimeter size class, you have a great unisex watch model for those looking for a sporty look.
