Piaget Polo represents sporty elegance

Piaget is a Swiss company that manufactures luxury watches and jewelry, whose best-known watch collection is the uniquely sporty Polo.

Piaget’s roots go back to 1974, when the company’s founder, Georges Piaget, set up a workshop on his family farm in the village of La-Côte-Aux-Fées, where he focused on manufacturing pocket watches and precise watch movements. When Georges Piaget’s son Timothée took over as head of the company, Piaget focused on making wristwatches.

The foundation of the current dna was created in 1957, when the third generation of Piaget introduced the manually wound and only 2 mm thick Caliber 9P movement. In 1960, the world’s thinnest automatic movement (only 2.3 mm) Caliber12P was introduced. From then on, Piaget’s strength has been in the manufacture of exceptionally ultra-thin movements, which is reflected in the slim design of Piaget watches. This is also the case with the manufacturer’s sporty spearhead, the Polo watch collection.

The 36 millimeter Polo watches are primarily aimed at women, which is indicated by the beautiful diamond settings in the white gold hour markings on the dial, and in some models also in the case. In the popular blue dial model, the diamonds in the hour markers appear with a very slight gesture, which creates an indescribable charm for the watch. The same detailed finish continues seamlessly on the steel bracelet, whose matte-brushed center pieces provide a suitable contrast to the polished H-bracelet pieces. The same contrast of matte-finishing is also repeated on the watch case.

In addition to the three-hand models, the 42 millimeter size class also includes chronographs. There are plenty of strap options, which also touch the previously mentioned 36 millimeter size category, but the rubber straps on the presented watches are extremely comfortable on the wrist and bring out a more sporty and, shall we say, more casual nature. This is one of Polo’s strengths, because by changing the strap, its style fits almost every situation.

Thanks to their ultra-thin movements, Polo watches are from the thinner end of the watch world, so they fit perfectly on the wrist and therefore feel comfortable on the wrist. The fit is just right regardless of the bracelet, so it’s easy to change the style of the watch depending on the situation, from sporty to formal to festive.
