Bulgari is an Italian luxury brand whose jewelry and wristwatches exude style, quality and elegance. The manufacturer’s renewed Octo Roma model series is no exception to this, but represents the absolute pinnacle of watchmaking
The Octo watch collection has a personality due to its octagonal design language, which was inspired by the octagonal roof structures of the vaults of the basilica named after Maxentius, who served as Roman emperor in the years 306-312. The collection, divided into Roma and Finissimo model series, is personal and high-quality, of which Roma is more approachable due to its price and slightly more restrained design.
The recently renewed Octo Roma model series includes three models with three hands (anthracite, blue, white), and for the first time the chronograph in two different colors (black and blue). The dials have a wonderful Clous de Paris texture, the contrast of which varies beautifully depending on the surrounding light and viewing angle. The dial has applied hour indices, which now have luminescence like the hour and minute hands. This improves the readability of the watch in dark conditions.
Bulgari is known for making some of the thinnest movements and watches on the market, and the Octo Roma is no exception. The three-hand model has a diameter of 41 mm and is only 9.15 mm thick. In the chronograph the dimensions are 42 mm and 12.4 mm. All Octo Roma watches have Bulgari’s own automatic movement with a power reserve of 42 hours, which beats at a frequency of four hertz. In chronographs, the timing functions are implemented with the Dubois-Dépraz module. Carefree use is guaranteed by 100-meter water resistance and a screw-down crown.
The absolute strength of the watch is its fit on the wrist. Due to the thin design, the center of gravity of the watches is close to the wrist, so the watch sits comfortably against it. The fit and at the same time luxurious style is crowned by a steel bracelet that is one of the best on the market. In addition to the steel bracelet, the watch comes with a pleasant rubber strap, which can be easily changed thanks to the quick-release mechanism.
